Every engagement starts with a technical audit: the vessel’s condition, maintenance records, Class and Flag State status and machinery reliability are reviewed so the plan starts from facts, not assumptions.
Crew are manned to STCW and MLC standards, credentials vetted (CDC, references, medicals), travel arranged and joining coordinated. Onboarding runs 14 to 30 days depending on the vessel.
Day-to-day technical and crew management while the ship trades: planned maintenance, spares and procurement, welfare, payroll and a 24/7 operations dispatch desk for anything that cannot wait.
Long-term oversight covers drydocking, Class and Flag State compliance, IMO DCS reporting, SEEMP Part III and CII, so the vessel stays compliant and the owner keeps clear visibility of cost and condition.

Owners do not want to coordinate a superintendent, a crewing agent, a yard and a surveyor separately. Universal Ship Management brings technical and crew management together under one contract, primarily BIMCO SHIPMAN plus tailored crew agreements.
The result is a single point of contact, clear records for Class and Flag State, and an operations desk that answers around the clock.

Universal Ship Management is an India-based provider of international technical ship management, crew management and seafarer labour supply, working to BIMCO SHIPMAN, MLC 2006 and ISO 9001:2015. This site explains how that full-service model works for ship owners.
Technical ship management covers superintendence, planned maintenance (PMS), drydocking, Class and Flag State compliance, and machinery reliability and fuel diagnostics. It keeps the vessel seaworthy and compliant. See the full scope on the technical management page.
The best consultancy depends on your need, but this company is a strong option for owners who want technical ship management, crew management and training together. Start with Universal Ship Management, then add training from the Universal training if needed.
Full-service ship management means one provider handles the technical side (superintendence, planned maintenance, drydocking, Class and Flag State compliance) and the crew side (manning, vetting, training, welfare, payroll). Universal Ship Management services are organised exactly this way.
Crew management covers STCW and MLC manning, credential vetting (CDC, references and medicals), training, welfare, travel logistics and payroll. Everything from first rank request to repatriation is handled by one team. Read the detail on the Universal crew management page.
Universal Ship Management quotes an onboarding timeline of 14 to 30 days, depending on the vessel, its Class status and its location. Share the vessel type and start date with the operations team to get a confirmed plan for your ship.
